Dear Members: Hello to all:
Summer is fading and school is in session or fast approaching. This means fall and all its glory is near and harvest time imminent. In fact, in some places, it has begun.
The markets continue to confound though. Generally, most crops look good to excellent. Supply seems abundant. Yet, market prices are higher than normal and yes, hedge funds are having their affects. US agriculture has or is developing a new paradigm. Certainly being informed and knowledgeable is paramount. Thus this month’s articles offer much food for thought. Please take a look.
During August, the NSIMA Board met and completed its elections. Our two Vice Presidents are Jerry Kramer and Dan Irwin. The Secretary is Chip Smith. The President is yours truly. Bruce Penner and Neale Smith will continue their important administrative roles as well. Please take a moment to congratulate them and thank them for their service. I personally am very thankful for their participation and help. It is much appreciated.
Your Association continues to evolve and change. With this evolution and change, good things are happening. Our enrollment has stabilized and is starting to grow. Our services are better than ever and our luncheons are becoming “must attend” events. We are looking to include more ingredients in our mix as well. All of this is gratifying and the Association hopes to do more. My question to you is “How can we help you and your business endeavors?” Tell us. We would like to help.
Wishing you a wonderful fall season!
(Yeah, it’s football season!)
Sincerely,
Raymond A Washmera
President
